Every way to seat 150
The chart below shows the smallest cake that covers 150 guests for each shape and slice size — all from the same Wilton figures the calculator uses. "Party" slices are 1½ × 2 in slice; "wedding" slices are the slimmer 1 × 2 in slice, which is why the wedding options run smaller.
| Option | Smallest fit | Seats about |
|---|---|---|
| Round, party slices | 3-tier 16" + 14" + 6" | 152 |
| Square, party slices | 3-tier 16" + 14" + 6" | 155 |
| Round, wedding slices | 2-tier 16" + 12" | 156 |
| Sheet, party slices | no single sheet is big enough | — |
No single round in the standard chart seats 150 party-size, so the recommendation tiers: the engine picks the fewest tiers first (easier to bake, stack and serve), then the least waste — that's how it lands on a 3-tier stack (16" + 14" + 6"). Treat 150 as a minimum: end pieces and uneven cuts always cost a few servings, and leftover cake has never been a problem.
